Cat6 cable supports speeds up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) at distances up to 100 meters and 10 Gbps up to 55 meters. Cat6A (Category 6 Augmented) is an enhanced version that supports 10 Gbps at the full 100-meter distance with improved shielding to reduce crosstalk. Cat6A also operates at 500 MHz bandwidth compared to Cat6's 250 MHz, making it better suited for bandwidth-intensive applications, data centers, and future-proof installations. The thicker gauge and superior performance make Cat6A ideal for environments requiring consistent high-speed connectivity.
